Be Number One in the Search Results
What is SEO?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of showing the search engines what your page and site are most relevant for, in ways they understand and reward. It is not about tricking the search engines into temporarily ranking your page higher as many companies learn when they are slapped down with the next Google algorithm.
SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic usually called off-page SEO.
Why Is SEO Important to your business?
The better your SEO is, the more targeted traffic you get to the offer for your product or service. Not only that, but also potential customers who come inherently show you more trust. If Google trusts you enough to rank you high...they can trust you to provide what your telling them you can.
How do I know I can reach my customers through SEO?
We have been subconsciously trained to value personal recommendations and expert opinions at a higher rate than paid advertising. The act of searching on a service like Google, Yahoo, or Bing makes most of us take any advertising with a ‘grain of salt’ even when we do click on a button. We inherently know that advertising is intended to sell an idea, product, or service to us. If that's what we're looking for it's great. However, when organic search results get click, we assume they are more authoritative or more relevant and generally yield higher trust…which is what we are all looking for in business.
